Story Behind Avoria

"Where Every Journey Matters."

My journey into the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) wasn't sparked by a single moment. Rather, it was shaped over time by the incredible children and families I’ve had the privilege of supporting throughout my career.

Early in my career, while working closely with children with autism and developmental disabilities across home, school, centre, and community settings, I quickly learned a vital lesson that every child communicates, learns, and experiences the world in their own unique way. While the challenges could be significant, the breakthroughs were profound — a child independently asking for something for the first time, confidently joining a group activity, or simply sharing a proud smile after mastering a hard-earned skill.

These milestones left a lasting impression on me. They taught me that meaningful progress is rooted in patience, consistency, and an unwavering belief in a child's potential, even when the path forward isn't straightforward.

As my experience grew, so did my understanding of the realities families face. I saw parents tirelessly balancing work, caregiving, school meetings, and medical appointments while trying to ensure their child received the support they deserved. I witnessed the stress of navigating long waitlists, high therapist turnover, and the constant logistical hurdles of coordinating care. Listening to these parents made one thing abundantly clear: exceptional therapy extends far beyond the session itself. It requires making families feel genuinely supported, respected, and heard.

This realization inspired me to create Avoria.

My vision was simple but deeply meaningful: to provide high-quality, family-centred, in-home ABA services that seamlessly fit into families' lives, rather than forcing families to fit their lives around therapy. I wanted to build a practice where open communication is the standard, relationships are deeply valued, and every child receives individualized care tailored to their unique strengths, goals, and everyday environment.

For me, this work is about far more than teaching skills. It is about celebrating progress, empowering families, and helping children gain the confidence and independence to reach their fullest potential at home, at school, and in their communities.

At Avoria, we believe that every journey is different, every milestone, big or small, matters and is worth celebrating, and every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. That is the philosophy that guides our practice every single day.

Because at Avoria, "Where Every Journey Matters" is our deepest commitment to your family — it is the foundation of everything we do.
